This exceptionally high quality two drawer chest is a wonderful example 
of the 17th century era of furniture known as Louis XlV. Pieces of that 
style tend to be heavy and with highly ornate carvings. This stand 
was well crafted in Spain and is in excellent condition with all 
the carvings and brass hardware intact. The rich serpentine 
edged marble is free of chips and dings showing only 
minor wear. Depending upon your own decor 
needs, this would make a wonderful accent 
piece, end table, console, night 
stand or hall chest.
