Frequently Asked Questions
What makes something an antique?
Unlike cars that are referred to as antiques when they're 25 y/o, in the furniture world, it's considerably older. Some of the experts say 50 or 75, but many still say it's at least 100 years.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we can deliver all over the New England region and arrange for shipping across the country. Sorry, but we can not handle international shipments. Deliveries by truck are generally done weekends or evenings, but we can work with you for whatever time best suits your schedule.
How do I find out if what I have is an antique piece of furniture that may be worth something?
We can help you out with that if you email us some clear photos. Or, we can make a house call. Or, if it's small enough, you could bring it on by the store. We cannot do free appraisals just for curiosity sake but will try to be of assistance. You might also try searching on Ebay for it.
Does your store have anything to do with the PBS series Antique Roadshow on television?
No, just similiar names.
Does that really really ridiculously good looking guy in the pic actually run your store?
Yes, we let him think he does!
How's business?
Often people come in the store and ask,"how's business?" I reply: "it's like humping a sheep....even if it's good, you shouldn't brag.
